A Question of Dignity
Drones spouting nonsense
There is not an issue facing this country today that isn’t surrounded by the MOST pathetic, simple-minded vitriol opposing sides can muster. On those rare occasions where someone finds a reasoned approach to anything (Rand Paul leaps to mind) that person is shouted down with rhetoric even more ridiculous than either side had shouted before.
Every so often a very stark incident occurs. When this happens, you would hope that both sides would be shocked into seeing some path to reason, as we sometimes see in movies - as we may have seen in a distant, more mature past.
That is not to say there isn’t a right or wrong to every situation. There usually is. The right answer usually upsets the intellectually lazy hot heads in the discussion. The Good shooting is one such case. And it occurred with an already ridiculous backdrop.
Even before the shooting, there were people working very hard to see such an event would occur. (Remember, I said intellectually lazy.) With ICE fanning out to legally and properly rid the nation of illegal immigrants, opponents didn’t leap to change the laws governing the actions. That would take REAL effort, patience and intellectual heft. Politicians in the states effected, states who have for over a decade flouted federal law on the issue, immediately flame sprayed the airwaves with provocative speech. They almost to a man demonstrated that they were utterly ignorant of existing law (Brandon Johnson or Karen Bass) or pretended to be ignorant (JD Pritzker, Tim Walz or Jacob Frey)1. This pretense of ignorance would be the excuse professional, AstroTurf, protest producers would need to inflame people and send them into harms way.
To my knowledge, there is no serious adult discussion inside the Beltway to amend any laws regarding immigration or enforcement thereof. That’s because the proponents of disruption and violence are not interested in doing the work necessary to change the law.
But the vitriol is not the sole purview of the Left in this case. The Donald is once again, as he did with the Charlie Kirk shooter, stepped all over the legal process. Instead of simply saying the shooting was a tragedy and admonishing people to not behave stupidly, he went on a rant. In it, he raked Good over the coals and all but declared a positive outcome to an investigation that had not yet occurred. It was another knot head tweet to add to the massive collection.
If DJT visited the Vatican and took a dump in the middle of St. Peter’s Square, there would be no shortage of people who would say it was okay because the Pope is a Lefty and hates Trump. The Left has NO monopoly on intellectual laziness. Perhaps at the moment they have a numerical advantage because that is the party of the takers.
Also, among the peanut gallery I am seeing an uptick in the “shoot ‘em all” nonsense among idiots who consider themselves Right-wing or conservative.
I will repeat, there was a right and wrong in this situation. And as I am not the president, I do hold Good most at fault and her sidekick as a close second. Consider, once the agents were on the scene, the pair had accomplished their mission. Traffic was backing up. Number 2 (Becca) was out of the vehicle taunting cops and recording it. They got their adolescent 15 minutes.
If at that point, Renee got out of the car and followed orders, she would have become a heroine to the mob. But she didn’t. What she did do was inexplicably foolish.
And no history was made here. There are countless videos in the ether of idiots who thought they could do anything they wish with their vehicles when cops were around it. All attracted varying amounts of lead.
Anyway, here is an example of the simple-minded view of this incident, and I would suspect, reality in general. It was in my stack this morning.

My god, the man us a murderer, stop apologising for him. He shot that woman in cold blood, we’ve all seen the footage, she was no threat. That he used military training to kill her makes it worse. He is clearly a reactionary who enjoys having a gun in his hand and wielding power over others, exactly the last kind of person who should ever be given either; but that is ICE, basically Brownshirts.
My reply
The video is not interpretive. She accelerated right at the agent. He gets hit and knocked back about four feet. In the process he squeezes off three rounds. There is no “in cold blood” in the situation. If you’ve seen the video and say she posed no threat, then you are only saying that because you have an agenda. That’s not new. There were millions of people who pretended to care about George Floyd because they had an agenda. But his circumstances were nowhere near as clear as Good’s.
If you accelerated toward a cop, he should shoot you for two reasons. If he only had one second, as the ICE agent did, he’d likely only be acting on one. That first one is that you might kill him. The second, and this is the one he wouldn’t have time to think about, if you would use a deadly weapon on him, you can’t be out there wielding that weapon anymore.
This is not to claim intent. Good may very well have been trying to drive away - stupidly. She was there stupidly. They were harassing the cops all day stupidly. She and her sidekick were blocking traffic stupidly. They were both talking smack to the agents stupidly. But the cop who got bounced off of her bumper was not in a position to give Good an aptitude test. So we’ll never know what she was thinking.
Equally, YOU [Kev] don’t know anything about what the agent was thinking. You have NO IDEA what kind of man he is. You don’t know how carrying a gun makes him feel, as you say you “clearly” do. We do KNOW he had 20 years experience in the military and as a cop. We know that in the process of trying to apprehend another perpetrator previously, he was dragged 50 yards by another vehicle and got torn up pretty good. He could have easily been killed. But YOU know nothing of what he likes and doesn’t like.
People who are saying these things are like the idiots who beatified Floyd when his pointless, ugly life ended. They said stupid things then and do so now, because they have no dignity. They will say ANYTHING in any situation, no matter how inaccurate or immature, because they are drones, and that is what their tribe expects of them.
We may learn more soon. But we will have to keep cutting through the bullshit being heaped on the pile. But everyone who saw the video, no matter what nonsense they claim later, knows it was a good shoot. It won’t matter. Takers and the perpetually offended people will ruin this guy’s life anyway. That is what the tribe is telling them to do.
And I love the reference to Brownshirts. The Brownshirts were an organized band of bullies. They paraded through the streets seeking out confrontation. They repeatedly assaulted people in the process. They demanded bystanders salute them or get punched in the face. The police in the Wiemar republic were short on money and personnel, demoralized and in many cases corrupt. So there was little or no push-back when the punks were on the march.
The group that most resembles that bunch is not any law enforcement organization in the United States. The one that does most is the collection of punks and poofs know as Antifa. They are famous for wreaking havoc and cold cocking people. They have even gone as far as to attempt an assassination at an ICE facility earlier in the year.2
The next group would be the Black Lives Matter professional grifters and riot organizers. At some of the less violent demonstrations, these goons would disrupt people, perhaps at outside dining facilities (sometimes they’d actually go inside, too) and knock over drinks and dump meals insisting the patrons being so assaulted say, “Black Lives Matter”. This is a level of stupidity that mirrors exactly the Brown Shirts AND Mussolini’s Black Shirts in thuggery, immaturity and stupidity.
Many of the riots organized by BLM were just excuses to experience the joy of looting and arson. There were the occasional inanities about George Floyd offered as a fig leaf.
Both the previous organizations enjoyed the complicit support of mayors and governors. Where they tore up a town, or threatened to, they were coddled and permitted to do whatever they wished. The weak and corrupt politicians would make speeches, inspired by their fear of the thugs, blaming “white supremacy” or W or Trump for the violence and thuggery.
Now, in a disgusting grasp at power, the politicians have replaced both organizations as the prime instigators and organizers of confrontation, vandalism, assault and now Ms Good’s death. They have a cover story: The people are being led by others using an app to go after ICE. But as we saw with Seattle’s mayor, city government and often state government provides information the organizers need to send the AstroTurf to a scene. Confrontation is encouraged, even just by sending in the drones, inevitable.
It’s sometimes comical. When the pepper spray comes out the front line of drones breaks off. Then hangers on straggle timidly forward, one or two at a time to get their spritz of spray. They know it will sting. But now they can say, “Dude! I’m a revolutionary! I got gassed. Good thing those cops had that gas because I’d have kicked ALL their asses! Pass me my spiced latte.”
So, say what you want about who is at fault in Good’s death. The REAL culprits in Minnesota were Frey and Walz. In Washington, the Seattle mayor and others are intentionally setting up their own citizens for potential harm from objects thrown at cops, being pushed from in front of cars - or worse - ending up under a moving vehicle. And if citizens, with the blessings of local government continue to use their vehicles as weapons of attack or blockade, the politicians will possibly get the ultimate prize they seek…another Good. For all their pearl clutching, nothing would please a Dem politician more, in these states.
The greatest danger these drones face are civilian vehicles. Normal people are getting fed up with “protestors” blocking their path. Note: Blocking someone’s right to movement is a form of assault. Mobbing a car and behaving in an angry, threatening manner is a form of assault. Eventually THIS will result in a violent confrontation. After that most drivers WILL NOT stop their vehicles just because the drones are crying about illegals again.3 Some may not even slow down. And you’ll have your mayors and governors to thank. It IS the reason they want you there “protesting”.
So, what is the middle ground to all this. Well, as we are a nation of laws, we first ALL follow the law. If local cops roll up a criminal listed for detainer, follow the law and hand them off to ICE. Otherwise ICE MUST operate in your community. That’s the law in action. If Frey followed the law for the last 5 years, you wouldn’t see large numbers of ICE and DHS fighting off mindless mobs intent of breaking more laws. (Interfering in the conduct of police business IS illegal. In this all cops involved have shown IMMENSE patience.)
There has also been much forbearance demonstrated with people like Jacob Frey. He is the chief executive of his city and has ordered police to disobey federal law, the detainers. He has also encouraged people to thwart federal law in the streets. He, the Chief of Police and other key people in the chain of command should be arrested. The administration has had the right to do this since January of last year. They haven’t. This has only emboldened the local politicians.
Second, mayors and governors should petition their delegation in DC to author a bill to change the way ICE and DHS operate, or to legally recognize the existence of “sanctuary cities”. I would find such a law stupid and repugnant, but if such a law were passed, that’s tough titties for me. If it doesn’t that is too bad for the politicians trying to make bank on illegals.
If people want to protest, they can grab their custom made Soros sign for the cause of the week and march all they want. What they CANNOT legally do is stop federal law enforcement from carrying out lawful operations or interfere with your right to walk or drive to work…or anywhere. That is NOT a right granted under the constitution. But by all means, speak your mind. Win the argument.4
Unless and until the Left’s argument is won, the legal operations of ICE should continue unimpeded and detainers should be respected. At this moment, that is the ONLY way to keep citizens safe, versus local politicians using them as cannon fodder or props at their next fundraiser.
As I have said countless times on this channel: THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT YOU!

Jacob Frey employed the F-bomb to try to look like a tough guy, telling ICE, “We don’t want you here!” The intent was to give citizens the green light to do anything they want to ICE. Walz is talking about Minnesota being at war with the federal government. This is the most irresponsible rhetoric to date. Perhaps I should have put him on the genuinely stupid list.
A few members caused a disturbance, drawing ICE out of their facility. At that point another poof fired from cover hitting an agent in the neck. A very close call.
Or whatever the Trump obsessed “cause” of the week is.
To argue means to REASON. With the level of REASON on display in public discourse today, I am not sanguine.
