Maybe they're serious this time.
I've been talking about it for two years

It’s been almost three years now. On Saint Patrick’s Day 2023, I visited with Patricia Degennaro. She was an amazing guest, still one of my best shows to date. We discussed a wide variety of international issues.
Very late in the episode, at the 1:06:00 mark, I unveiled a bold idea. We should have already been pursuing it. You would have heard it here first, and it goes way beyond what the administration is considering right now. But even with the small ball we’re playing with the UK, we’ve lost so much valuable time letting things drift and muddying the water with silly tariff talk.
I’ll embed the video. I’d encourage watching the whole thing. But for today’s purposes, check out the 1:06:00 mark. It outlines trade we should be pursuing. Right now, they are talking about just the UK. Small ball.
I’ll leave an extra comment below the video.

I listened to Peter Zeihan on this same subject today. He pointed out a bit of minutia that could create a challenge to trade with UK on any scale. That is food safety.
I can envision DJT insisting we trade everything as is, no challenge to the USA. To that I say, why export what we already know is shit - our hyper processed food? We should be cleaning up that mess for OUR OWN PEOPLE. The wider world would benefit as a result of trading quality goods. No other country should have to chose between no trade with the US versus eating shit food. WE shouldn’t be eating shit food!
Trump likes to lead with his balls. Is he ballsy enough to shit can the processed food lobby? Is there a single testicle to be found in Congress on the issue?
