I woke up this morning at about 0400. For some inexplicable reason, I had Blue Bayou stuck in my head. I tossed, I turned, I tried to think of another song so my mind would drift. I struggled to think about work. Nope. The song was still there. I got out of bed around 0800. With the song still stuck in my head I sat at my laptop thinking about Linda Ronstadt. I loaded up Blue Bayou and considered her story. All due respect to Roy Orbison, Linda sounded SO MUCH better singing it. And the soothing base riff just sets the song off.
And she looked better than Roy too. I’m sure he’d agree.
Ronstadt had a fascinating career. And that’s where we’ll go after some newsy stuff. Stick around. You WILL enjoy the ride.
