P4B is primarily a political site. But I did say that it would also include other subjects along with “silly nutbaggery”. The next two posts will stray from the political to give you things to just enjoy and contemplate. If you are planning a wedding, or just like cool story lines, one of those will be GOLDEN.
If you arrived here like most people you are doing as most people do online. Hit the social media of choice and scroll.

And so it goes.
It’s the “wall of words” I want to talk to you about.
I don’t rank myself with James Joyce or Christopher Hitchens. But I do get a little wood on it now and then. This is especially true with my next two posts. Many writers, especially here on Substack, are phenomenal. I subscribe to, and promote, writers I don’t agree with on ANYTHING because their stuff is so well presented. I don’t have to be their clones to enjoy the work and maybe learn a little something. There is pleasure in reading their stuff.
My point is this. Don’t forget the value of the written word. We have grown accustomed to only needing a tiny attention span to enjoy social media. But the fruit at the end of the click is the gift of a larger world. And at least a few times a week you should allow yourself the pleasure of living inside the head of another human being. Even a video can’t do that for you. Seeing a “wall of words” is not necessarily a reason to click off a site
.
A friend once told me you are what you read. In my years on earth (I am somewhere between 29 and… Stonehenge) I have found that statement to be a rock solid truth. I hope this short article inspires at least a few people to slow down and smell the message.
