Can things get any more stupid?

A weird week gets weirder.

I just watched a video posted by DC Draino on Reels. (I haven’t managed to link it.) It shows a large group of state troopers and Secret Service trying to respond to the Trump shooting. Only, that can’t. The fence they need to access is locked. A few people try to wrestle with the gate and give up. Finally, someone on the inside crashes a car into the gate and opens up a spot where the cops can crawl through. They all run, one at a time toward the scene, only to encounter another fence.

The advance work and scene prep performed by our vaunted Secret Service last week set a record for fuck-ups. And the fuck-ups just got worse as time rolled on. It’s been a slow-motion train wreck since last Saturday.

We now know that the suspect was spotted at the entrance to the event with a range finder a full half hour before the shooting. Some officers made a half-assed effort to follow the guy (versus pulling the guy aside and questioning him!!!!!). and…well…they lost him. No biggee.

From agents cowering behind other agents instead of joing them, to two agents making sure their sunglasses were good while REAL agents were trying to get Trump to the limo, to snipers - goddamn snipers - keeping watch from inside a building 130 yards out, and on and on, There will be years of explaining to do before this is over.

I’ll have to check, but I’m pretty sure that in the course of getting a wounded subject out of the area, the standard operating procedure is not to pick up your Raybans and hold them in one hand with your sidearm, while trying to move a man twice your size with the other. I see a series of problems with just that one.

And, of course, immediate body guards MUST be as big or bigger than the subject to be of any friggin’ use whatsoever!

And what the hell was Manchin saying last week?

A week ago Monday, Joe Manchin (D-WV) was asked if he thought Biden should step down. Joe said we should wait until after the weekend (still six days out at the time) when everything would be clearer. Not a reporter on the scene understood the answer. When pressed Manchin just said to wait until after the weekend.

Well, I don’t know what the hell happened over the weekend other than people getting killed and wounded along with DJT.

Can the water be any muddier?

This is the kind of circus where REAL suspicions are aroused among the people. I said in episode 24 of the Jordan/Cori Show that I WILL not laugh at any of the theories that will bubble up among citizens.

There are only two possibilities at work here. Either the SS detail assigned to Trump don’t give enough of a shit about Trump to do their jobs, or something truly nasty really is happening in the Anti-Trump camp of our government. There is no third possibility.
