Before we get to the main event.

As of this writing, DJT just held what he called his “Liberation Day” event at the White House. He is installing a list of tariffs on a number of countries that tariff us.

I would issue this warning to the political whores who people Capitol Hill. The revenues that come in under the tariff program are not an invitation for you people to have a new spending orgy. All the money should be used to paydown debt, go against unfunded mandates or paid directly back to the American people. Congress needs to spend every day for the next two years cutting spending and shrinking entitlement programs. The latter can be done without reducing a single payout to people who truly need it. inprove efficiency, DOGE style, and kick sponges off the roles.

Cosider a POS flat tax. This is the only HONEST, consistent and fair tax possible. It eliminates billions of dollars worth of bookkeeping sleight of hand by the government uses today. But it does more than that. It reduces the cost of compliance by retailers and manufacturers by multiple billions of dollars. Guess who pays for all THAT right now. That’s right - YOU DO! And you pay your sales tax and you pay for the stores taxes and the middleman;s taxes and the manufacturer’s taxes and the importer’s taxes. You pay ALL thier corporate taxes. Right now. A flat POS tax could be rather substantial and STILL save you a lot of money overall.

Main Event!

Consider this an informational inoculation. I want to lay out some popular Lefty talking points in a detailed fashion so you can see how they are trying to play you. At the same time I want to demonstrate how they NEVER have answers other than to spend more money on failed ideas.

The Left has turned to the use of endless false assertions (zero evidence offered) and naked projection of their own faults in an effort to tear down ANYTHING that isn’t 100% in line with their socialist, authoritarian dogma.

Authoritarian

In fact, there is your first example. After now 11 years of political persecution of DJT and his key supporters, after three presidential terms abusing power on a scale that would make FDR and Wilson blush, after colluding secretly with private companies to censor citizens - AND LYING ABOUT IT!! - these people have the nerve to call ANYONE authoritarian, much less Donald Trump.

And for what? Is it DOGE? That is the systematic deflating of the permanent governing class using authority ceded to the Executive by congress over the last 90 years. Since FDR, congress saw an opportunity to be incredibly lazy and shirk responsibilties at the same time. Legislation was shot through with language that gave legislative and oversight authority (perhaps unconstitutionally, perhaps we’ll finally find out) to the Executive branch. “Departments will have the authority to…”. “Agencies will make regulations which…”. DOGE is just using that authority to reverse the cancerous growth of government created by that very surrender of authority.

The Executive branch is very rapidly wittling away the very abuses and authoritarianism provide by a lazy congress. That’s a strange form of authorianism. If indeed that is what the Left is crying about. We can’t know because they rarely offer evidence. And when it is offered, it is often empty rhetoric tarted up as evidence.

Breaking Alliances

This is one we’ve heard quite a bit lately. I just watched an otherwise informative video by my favorite thinker/shill, Peter Zeihan. The piece was about the F-47. (For the record, I am less impressed with this idea than even Zeihan is.) One of the points he makse about this fighter along with it’s predecessors, is the importance of a buy-in by allies. But that is a problem. Because, Zeihan states repeatedly, DJT is “walking away” from our allies.

This is one of the Left’s constant, religious talking points going back to 2017. Trump clearly told NATO that if a country didn’t carry their agreed burden he didn’t see how we could justify defending them. This is an empirically justifiable position for any nation to take. NATO isn’t based on everyone does what it likes and the US carries the burden for them. It’s a joint venture with contracted obligations.

Trump’s point was taken immediately, as it would have been if ANY US prsident had said it and nations started to pony up. This is more than fair, considering the nations in question have a larger combined GDP than the United States. The problem was immediately resolved, and Trump and NATO got along famously.

But from the first day Trump told the allies to pay their freight until the present day, the Left in this country said doing so was “turning our backs on our allies” or “insulting our allies.” It was, of course, neither.

Then there was Ukraine.

Keep in mind as we discuss this, war in the Ukraine is NOT a NATO issue. NATO can discuss the ramifications of that war, they can even come up with ideas to impact the outcome, but individual nations are under NO obligation to involve themselves at all in the war.

After failing to prevent the war by NOT enacting sanctions before the fact, and by saying stupid things like, “so long as it isn’t a major incursion”, the Biden administration flailed, as did NATO in their response since Putin started building his forces at the border. In fact some of the sanctions didn’t even go into effect until December of 2023, almost two years after the shooting started. What should have been a layup for Biden and NATO, stopping the war before it started, turned into a three-ring cluster fuck.

Throughout the 2024 campaign, Trump was critical of the war and our involvement in it. This gave birth to two more lies. One, by not wanting to dump our treature into a losing cause (there never was a path to victory for Ukraine) and not wanting to “be there for as long as it takes” [Biden speaking for Obama] Trump was being a “Putin puppet”. That term is so snarky the Lefty drones on social media couldn’t use it enough.

Hmmmm. How does opposing open-ended support for one corrupt country against another corrupt country, with 10 years of hostility already between them, make anyone a puppet of anyone. The answer: It doesn’t. Nobody called B. Hussein, peace be upon him, a Putin puppet when he tapped Medvedev on the knee and whispered “tell Vladimir” he’ll have more leeway to discuss missile reduction after the election. It was caught on an open mic, but why whisper that?

The same Lefty nut bags didn’t call BJ Bill’s wife a Putin puppet when she steered 20% of North America’s uranium into Russian hands.

Oh, but MJ! She was just on a comittee talking about it! It wasn’t her doing!

Yes, it was. She chaired the committee. The people on it were her drones. She was heir apparent to B. Hussein, peace be upon him. Nobody was going to espouse ANYTHING she didn’t agree with. She was the bellybutton for that deal.

The Right knocked the deal. But nobody called her Putin’s puppet. We now know she was fully in Putin’s employ on all matters that came before her as SECSTATE. And she and BJ Bill were paid handsomely. So that’s a lot more direct alignment with Russia than anything Trump has ever done or said.

The second myth associated by the Left, and NOT supporting Ukraine with a blank check, is that Trump was once again “turning his back on our allies”. Okay, by that logic, if you have a brother involved in an angry divorce preceding you would be morally obliged to pay his legal bills and actively thwart his soon-to-be ex, or you are turning your back on your brother. Yes, that is how ridiculous the taking point is. But the Dems and the media don’t care. The mindless drones that parrot the lie don’t care. They have no alternative or path to success. The point is to use the shiny object war to tear down a political opponent.

And the NATO myth continues to grow.

Speaking to the EU, Vice President, JD Vance, criticized the degradation of free speech and the suspension of elections that had consequences inconvenient to the ruling parties. This is happening all over Europe, in supposedly free and civilized nations. Vance made it clear that it is difficult to support policies that fly in the face of liberty which we ALL see in Europe right now. At no time did he insinuate we were leaving NATO. In fact, this was not a NATO gathering.

The reaction to some rather soft criticism, on the part of EUROPE, was to say that the relationship with the United States was irretrievably damaged and that Europe would have to muddle through without us. What a pack of pussies! THEY were having the hissy fits! They were stating that alliances are breaking down. We aren’t! Trump isn’t!

No one from the US was saying any of that. But that didn’t matter. It was one more reason for people like Zeihan to go all girly dramatic and say Donald Trump was “walking away from our allies”.

One more bit of Lefty mythology before moving on to other lies.

Let me start by saying EVERYBODY KNOWS the Canada as the 51st state line is a joke. Although it was very effective in getting into heads of Canadian Lefties. And if it came down to it, there would be several new states. But that’s not important right now.

What is important is the truckloads of bullshit on offer regarding the present dust up over tariffs. Canada enforces tariffs of anywhere from 20% to 290% of goods we sell them. Trump has decided to use tariffs of our own as an attitude adjuster. The idea is plainly desinged to get other countries to reduce there trade barriers to our goods.

Will it work? Who knows? But the intent is clear. Yet, Amercian Lefties are so obsessed with undermining Trump, “reducing his popularity” as Chuck Schumer says, that they take the side of all the countries and Canada, while those countries play ALL OF US for chumps. AS with DOGE, the Left isn’t against the waste, corruption and abuse. These idiots are against fixing things detrimental to their own country because orange man bad!

And, of course, they’ve conflated the trade negotiations, as they did non-military policy differences, with military alliances, and say DJT is “walking away from our allies.”

Trump isn’t walking away from anyone. Honest people can disagree on the methods Trump is using to gain trade and economic parity with the rest of the world. But honest people CANNOT conclude Trump intends to end NATO or cut off the EU. The evidence is not there. There are only empty charges from a failed opposition

Donald, the racist, Putin lover.

For the record, I have looked up QAnon several times. I have found articles about it, but I have never found a sign-up page where somebody can join the group. I have never read something that outlines what QAnon stands for, in the words of the group. I only hear the noise. And since that is all I have to go on, I have to assume QAnon is a racist group.

Since racist, mouth breathers of all kinds tend to break toward Trump, an intentionally false conclusion is promoted by the failed Left. Trump is a racist. This is a logical non sequitur. If you believe it you MUST conclude that every male Democrat is a cross-dressing homosexual. I mean those people vote overwhelmingly for Dems, right? So…?

Of course, that conclusion is ridiculous as is the assumption that Trump is a racists because racists like him. I am an atheist. I vote for the Donald twice. Does that make him an atheist?

But still, we see lies like these, probably just parroted talking points by Jim Stewartson on has Substack. He spent the article trying to tie Trump to faults that are much more prevalant, on the Left than the Right.

But it’s fairly well-written, in terms of prose and entertainment value. And for many it is therefore convincing. Stewartson’s historical stretches and innaccuracies not withstanding. Many among us tend to fall for fancy packaging.

For example:

It’s hard to express how perfectly this describes the goal of the Trump-MAGA-QAnon, and now Musk, cult. Lying is not just accepted in this reality, it is integral to the world they have created.

The writer spends a lot of time talking about lies but not providing examples. This is common on the Left. He also expends a great deal of effort making a similar point about Putin and the subject of his story, Aleksandr Dugin.

Dugin thinks he has a chance to drive some wedges in the West and inside the US based on his opinion of Trump. A video embedded in Stewartson’s post shows Fareed Zakaria asking blatantly leading questions to get Dugin to say he likes Trump and Trump likes Dugin. Dugin made two mild attempts to demonstrate his views don’t support the conclusion already drawn by the questioner. But no matter. That is the take-away CNN intended.

The author goes on to “criticize” Trump for what we see Stewartson and Zakaria doing!

It’s all about snark - witty, well-packaged snark.

I have a new follower/subscriber. For this particular subscriber, I suspect it won’t be for long. Her Substack is called THIS WOMAN VOTES. She is a prime example of what I am talking about. Her adolescent drama-queen delivery is the kind of schtick too many voters react to - because is sounds so “kewl”.

This is not a comment on the quality of writing. She’s a very good writer. She should be honest and call her work fiction. If she wrote thriller or war novels, I’d read them. But, as with others we’ve discussed here, she’s not relying on evidence. Her thing is cataloging greivance. Her works drips with well-crafted snark and is pregnant with similes and metaphor. But it’s not serious information.

It’s always good to question your own views. I read Lefties regularly. It’s hard to find straight forward honest ones. But I have no problem reacting to new evidence. It makes one more informed and well-rounded.

BUT!!!!!

Too much of what you will read from these folks is more admired if it lacks actual information, evidence and argument. Don’t fall for it.
