Can things get any more weird?

Since our last digest, Blue Origin sent a can into the upper atmosphere with four women onboard as…what?…ballast? They experienced momentary weightlessness as the can arched over the top and headed back down. The ballast all declared themselves astronauts, even though they never got close to the “astro” part.

One passenger was offended that people called the stunt flight a “ride”. Did people call what Apollo or Gemini ballast units did a “ride”?!?!

Well, yeah, that was pretty common parlance around NASA folk, as was “spam in a can”. Astronauts tend to use wry humor and downplay the drama. Passengers on expensive carnival rides tend to do the opposite.

Listening to Katy Perry, you’d think she had an out of body friggin’ experience.

The collective attitude of all the ballast is that their flight was not a stunt, it was like Alan Shepard’s first flight. I guess I’ll be the first to tell them…Shepard’s flight was primarily a stunt. We learned a little about telemetry, but the Soviets had already orbited the earth. We were just desperate to put to get meat in a rocket so we could say we did it. The Redstone booster was a rather pathetic piece of work for manned space flight. And still, Shepard had at a few tasks to perform in a very short time. For example he had to test the crafts attitudinal controls; ya know, astronaut stuff.

All the Blue Horizon ballast had did was hold a high altitude girl power rally. YAAAAAAY! Oprah cried.

What I don’t get is, knowing how obviously lame this show was going to be, they did it anyway. Did they think we were all that stupid? I guess if Bezos’ ol’ lady wants a multi-million dollar carny ride with her BFFs, it’s up to Jeff to strap them in and be the barker.

Big Mike is in the House!

Michelle Obama has a podcast. Last week she complained about how hard her life is, how men don’t care, how no one gave her permission to articulate how difficult her life was/is…all the while articulating how difficult her life was/is. And all THAT is because she’s black. Poor Michelle, with the whole world bowing and scraping and fetching for her for the last 20 years. Can someone PLEASE give her permission to articulate her pain?!?!?!?

Is Trump WINNING, or is he FLAILING?

Adherents insist he's being clever. The truth is, we can’t be sure either way. There are two extremes that disqualify themselves from the conversation. One cadre is the TDS victims. They can’t judge anything clearly because they don’t think. They emote 24/7/365 over how everything bad that ever happened was DJT’s fault.

The other group, worthless in our deliberations are the TRUMP, RIGHT OR WRONG folks. They never acknowledge Trump has ever put a foot wrong and everything he does is brilliant. They are like devout Catholics with the transubstantiation. You just have to have faith, there is NO questioning it.

I spent time on the subject here.

That leaves the clear thinkers to observe. But since DJT has shared his vision and strategy with NO ONE, we cannot know if there will be a successful end-game. Should he have gone after one country or region at a time, then slammed China? Or would that have provided China too much opportunity to push back? Does any of that matter? We cannot know. We only have Friedman’s caution:

It’s a Wait and See game. But Congress will have to play its part. If they can’t muster enough gonads to work from strength, the whole exercise will fail, whether you like Trump or not. Faith or hate will not save you.

Our efforts

Since our last update we had some great guests. The Daily Skeptic and Forbes contributor, Tilak Doshi brought some level-headed observations about GW/CC and green scams, along with an update from behind the lines in the UK. It becomes ever more clear, the EU and UK need to get real Trumpy, real fast, or they won’t have a Western culture anymore. They’ll be overrun by pre-enlightenment knuckleheads… like Dearborn.

Charlie Alexander stopped by again. He went from critic of county government to candidate. And get this, the STATE democrats aligned with county GOP in Delco and Montgomery, to get HONEST citizens off the ballot and keep the corrupt entrenched interests in power! There’s a court battle raging. We’ll let you know how it works out.

We had fun kicking Adam Kinzinger again. He’s an easier target the Robert Reich or Bill Kristol, and they’re pathetic. And in the same show, I introduced our NEW channel on Rumble.

And speaking of the Draft, the Eagles acquired a linebacker named Holy War Campbell…I think that’s an accurate translation. My son said I was putting the em-PHA-sis on the wrong sy-LAB-ell.
